Who wrote the CHW curriculum?
The creation of the Minnesota Community Health Worker Curriculum was done through a partnership between the CHWs, higher education institutions and other interested stakeholders. The curriculum is 14 credits and offers training for CHWs to learn core skills to be effect in their role. It also offers an opportunity to apply and integrate what they have learned through an internship within the community. The curriculum is separated into three content areas and is a total of 14 credits. Those areas include:

What is the cost to take the curriculum?
- Tuition costs vary per school – the average cost at a Minnesota State College and University school is about $130.00 per credit.
- Private schools might cost more per credit but they may offer a bundle package which could include a financial aid package.
Why is it important to take the CHW Curriculum?
- You will receive 14 credits – some of which can be used towards other health or social service training programs
- You receive a certificate upon graduating from completion of all the courses.
- The CHW certificate allows you once registered to be an enrolled provider under the Medicaid Program.
